Organic Olive Oil & Its Benefits On Salad

By Katie Onson

What are some of the most common names that come to mind when talking about salad dressing? Even though favorites like French and Thousand Island may come to mind, it's clear that they may not be the most healthful items in the world. This is where organic olive oil may come into play and there are those who believe this to be the best addition to any type of food. However, do you know as much about the actual benefits that stem from the oil in question?

According to an article on the Telegraph, adding a bit of organic olive oil to your salad can help to bring various health benefits to the surface. For example, one of the more common health benefits that authorities such as Bellucci Premium can attest to is an increase in heart health. Since good fats are entering the body, in this regard, the amount of bad cholesterol is lessened over time. However, the benefits of this type of oil, on salad, can aid the body in terms of air pollution.

The report detailed that ingesting an equivalent of two thirds of a teaspoon of organic olive oil can actually reduce the negative impact that air pollution can have on the heart. This is especially important when considering how air pollution can impact not only humans but animals and plant life as well. There are certain short-term affects to consider, such as irritation to the eyes and throat. However, when exposure is too great, humans run the risk of contracting lung cancer in addition to damage done to the brain.

What are some of the sources of air pollution that can cause these things, though? When you are working on a car, exposed to the fumes that come from a motor, chances are that your body will suffer from air pollution. In addition, when fossil fuels are burned in factories and even homes, the resulting soot and ash can negative affect the air around us. As a result, it's important to understand the importance of care and the diet, in regards to this type of oil, falls in line with this level of thinking.

With these points in mind, it should be made clear why it's important to take in organic olive oil. Whether you'd like to ingest it on its own or with other products, its effectiveness is hard to deny. However, I would make the argument that most people would like to use the oil in conjunction with other foods because of how easier it is to take in. Whatever your preference may be, there are far too many benefits, tied to this oil, to simply gloss over.
