Taking meat as an instance, in the past, tuberculosis and brucellosis brought about clinical diseases. These could be observed on the level of farm and through meat inspection, lesion would be recognized. Toxoplasma as an example of modern pathogen can be detected through the monitoring systems.

Quality control checks have been placed where necessary in order to allocate quality categories on products before introducing them to markets. Due to lack of methods of correcting or upgrading final outputs, the products with high quality will be expensive while the lower products will sell cheaply.
