What To Look For When Buying A Chilled Drink Dispenser

By Tammie Caldwell

If you are interested in being able to serve your guests delicious drinks, you may think that you have all the bases covered. If you don't have a chilled drink dispenser, however, you may be missing an important piece of equipment that can help you serve beverages that your guests will love to drink.

All of these units do basically the same task. All of them are made up of a reservoir that holds liquids. There is often a nozzle that is used to pour the drink for someone. Beyond the basic features, however, there are different features that you should look for. These can affect the price, the size of a unit and also whether or not it is right for your needs.

The number of guests you will serve is important too. If you buy a unit that is too small, you may find that you need to refill the reservoir several times during your event. This may not bother some hosts especially if you plan to switch out the type of beverage you serve several times. If you want to make sure that you buy a unit you only need to fill once, however, a larger reservoir may be an important feature you should search for.

Another thing to think about is whether you will be serving carbonated or non-carbonated beverages. Some models help to preserve the fizzy nature of carbonated drinks which will generally lose their fizz the longer they are exposed to air. If you want to keep your carbonated beverages as bubbly as possible, you need to look for a model that is designed for these types of liquids.

The number of reservoirs should also be considered. Some people may only be serving one type of liquid at a time, while others may want to serve a variety of different drinks. For example, if you are serving a number of different juices, you will want to make sure that there is a place to hold each kind of drink. Otherwise, you may find that you need to switch back and forth between drinks and this can be messy, frustrating and time consuming.

The length of time that a particular beverage will need to stay cold is also important. There are units that are insulated so that temperatures inside do not change as quickly. There are also units that plug in and which can keep the liquids inside chilled to a specific temperature. You may want to consider whether you will have a place to plug in your machine and this can influence whether or not you purchase a particular model.

Once you know the kinds of features you are looking for you can start shopping. There are many different stores that sell these items. If you want a smaller model, you may be able to find a number of models at kitchen supply stores or stores which sell small appliances. If you want a larger unit you may need to look in a store that sells supplies and equipment to businesses such as restaurants.

It may be frustrating to look at different models and ultimately make your choice. However, it can be really worthwhile to purchase one of these units especially if you are someone who loves to serve drinks to your guests and want them to be cool and refreshing.
