Some Facts About Quality Organic Foods

By Claudine Hodges

In most countries today, the whole food production is under control and all organic food is certified as such. This means that no artificial additives, chemicals, pesticides and similar things cannot be used in this process of production. Even when this type of food has to be processed, chemicals, irradiation and similar methods shouldn't be used. Quality organic foods should be pure and natural, and everything should be under control.

Mass or conventional production uses all sorts of chemicals, to improve the quantity and so called quality, but the fact is that their products quality is questionable. Different additives used may cause different diseases and allergies. That's why more and more people rather choose naturally grown food instead. The taste is better, whatever some experts might think of it, and it is enough to try natural food to be convinced.

When you see conventionally grown tomatoes, for example, they all look the same. They are beautiful and fully red and so appealing. They are treated in all stages of growth, and even after that. This is done to preserve their freshness longer, and to make sure their color will attract customers. You have to wash them really carefully. Naturally grown tomatoes aren't so uniform, but they have much better taste. And they are much healthier.

Some experts say that there are no much differences between these veggies, but if you just taste them, you will see that naturally grown ones taste so much better. They can control the amount of different nutrients in their products, but nature can do much better job. Organic food contain more nutrients, less non-nutrients and taste better, whatever those experts think. And these veggies and fruits are much healthier to consume.

In some countries, they have very strict regulations when it comes to this subject. The soil has to be perfectly clean of chemicals, the seeds should be untreated and all production stages are under control. Unfortunately, in some countries these rules are more flexible. That's why the final product can have different quality level. Private farms dedicated to natural farming traditionally offer better products.

Conventional food production usually use different pesticides and chemicals to make sure they will make profit. Organically produced foods are therefor more expensive than conventional ones. Although you will find this type of products just about anywhere today, some specialized stores will offer you highest quality organic food, fully certified and produced under constant control. This is the best guarantee of high nutrient level and overall quality.

If you buy processed organic food, it should contain only natural ingredients, to be labeled as such. Most countries allow up to five percent additives of some sort, but such products still shouldn't contain different chemicals, artificial additives or GMO. Of course, different chemical procedures such as chemical ripening shouldn't be used in this entire process of production as well.

It is always important to read the labels. You will find different products that are only partly natural, and contain some additives that shouldn't be there. If you are concerned about your health, choose natural products only. This whole process of production respects the nature and that's why ecologically balanced farming gives such good results. It's good for you and for the world you live in.
